With the support of a newly formed music hub in the western Netherlands, a collaboration between INI Movement, Paradiso, Patronaat, Super Sonic, Bird, House of Knowledge, Paard and Orisun Studio, multiple Block Party events will take place in Haarlem.
INI Movement, Houtbaar, Patronaat and Popcentrum Slachthuis join forces. Inspired by iconic neighborhood parties from the 70s in New York, the parties want to bring together the local creative community with this initiative, connect talents with industry professionals and create a stage for regional artists to shine.

INI Movement, Patronaat, and Popcentrum Slachthuis join forces to revive the spirit of the Block Party in Haarlem. Inspired by the vibrant gatherings of the '70s in New York, this initiative aims to nurture local talent, foster community bonds, and create a platform for artists to shine. With support from a newly formed music hub in West Netherlands, including Paradiso, Super Sonic, Bird, House of Knowledge, Paard, and Orisun Studio, three Block Party events are set to take place at Houtbaar in Haarlem, starting from July 2024.
These gatherings will feature an open jam session, our new live/dj concept called Estafête and networking opportunities, uniting Haarlem's music scene and providing a springboard for emerging talent. Through these gatherings, INI Movement aims to not only showcase talent but also facilitate meaningful connections and experiences vital for sustainable career growth in the music industry.
The jam session will be hosted by Playground, a dynamic series of open mic sessions held at Slachthuis Haarlem. For the Blockparties, we’ve invited the legendary Daniel von Piekartz to lead these spontaneous musical gatherings. Daniel, a talented pianist and singer, seamlessly blends soul, funk, and jazz, creating an unforgettable experience for all.
The highlight of the evening will be the Estafête, a collaborative jam session between DJs, professional musicians and audience members. At Estafette, DJ sets and live improvised music merge into a hot, sweaty party. The DJ plays a tune, the band takes over, and the other way around. Meanwhile, all you have to do is dance.
This edition’s lineup consists of incredible musicians like Euan Jenkins on drums, Aaron Bouwman on bass, Chelsea Laverne on keys, Lucas van Ee on sax, and Valentijn Bannier on guitar.

Shamis - A Place To Stay
Step into the world of Shamis.
On April 25, 2024, we celebrate the start of Shamis' project "A Place To Stay".
Shamis will share his journey towards this moment and a lot of new music.
We invite you to become a part of that world.
Misha has already lived many lives in the music industry, as a DJ, Producer, talent coach, and founder of the label INI movement.
After years of mostly serving his environment, he steps into the spotlight to share his perspective.

LIKEMINDS invites you to listen to The Lost Tape This mixtape full of stolen demo’s was recorded from 2018 till 2020. It was supposed to be the debut album, but LIKEMINDS had to make a new one from scratch. Now they have reclaimed and remastered these old demo’s and they are releasing them anyway with Dopeness Galore / INI Movement. Come join our listening party at our favorite club in town. Zijn jullie klaar voor iets unieks? Hou je vast! Als afsluiting van de zaterdag van Haarlem Vinyl Festival slaan INI Movement, Skatepark Haarlem en Slachthuis Haarlem de handen in een voor een uniek concept: Estafête! Bij Estafête wordt een DJ-set gecombineerd met een live geimproviseerde jam om vervolgens samen te smelten in een hete massa van dansbare tunes. De DJ draait een plaat, die neemt de band over en op zijn beurt sluit de DJ weer aan bij de band. Elke editie van Estafête brengt INI Movement een andere groep getalenteerde muzikanten uit het muzikale universum samen en combineerd dat met de beste lokale DJ's. Tien jaar geleden is INI Movement begonnen met het uitbrengen van muziek. Sindsdien heeft het label meer dan 60 releases van meer dan 60 artiesten van over de hele wereld achter zijn naam staan en zijn ze op talloze feestjes en festivals van de partij. Van hip-hop en R&B to broken-beat, edits en house is alles te vinden bij INI Movement, zolang er maar soul in zit!
